Lymington, United Kingdom Shallowmead Nurseries Full time

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the retail supervisor will help ensure Shallowmead is an inspirational and exciting retail destination for a variety of client types. Working along side a colleague, joint responsibilities include:

- Managing a team of retail assistants, providing training, ensuring quality customer service and high departmental standards.
- Delivering effective stock management, merchandising and display standards.
- Monitoring the managements business objectives and providing detailed reports on product activity.
- Performing back office duties such as cashing up and banking.
- Working with the operations manager to decide what plants and products are required, creating purchase orders and ordering them from approved suppliers.
- Organising the monthly staff rota.
- Ensuring health, safety, hygiene and fire protocols are enforced.
- Basic computer skills. Experience of using growmaster is an advantage but not necessary as training will be given.
- The ability to form successful working relationships with other team members and work independently.
- A reasonable horticultural knowledge to identify the right product for our clients.
- A friendly and welcoming personality. Whilst this is not a salesmen role, the ability to make the most of the sales opportunities presented is highly desirable.
- The ability to follow procedures and an understanding of the importance of doing so.
- Flexibility to work in other roles and departments as necessary and a strong work ethic.

Hours: 3-5 days a week. Salary: by negotiation on a pro rata basis.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
