**Hope Street** is an exciting, brand-new, purpose-built residential community-based service, designed in collaboration with women, for justice-involved women and their children in Hampshire. Trauma-informed by design it will offer a safe andsupportive environment where women and their children can access education, practical and therapeutic support and activities that build confidence, self-esteem and skills and provide the opportunity to build a fulfilling and happy life and play a meaningfulrole within society.

**About the Role**

As part of a brand-new team setting out to deliver this new and exciting residential service for women and their children from Hampshire, you will be our front of house, friendly and welcoming host. The role is a key element of how we maintain the safetyof all people living and working in the Hub. Responsibilities include the monitoring all movement of people in and out of the Hub during the day when the public spaces are open, signing professionals attending meetings in and out of the buildings and directingthem to the right part of the Hub, signing women’s visitors in and out during visiting hours, and dealing with the public interaction with the café and the activities available to people living locally.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide a visible welcome/meet and greet service to all people entering the Hub through the public entrance, including members of the public using the café, residents, staff, visitors, and other professionals.
- Welcome residents back when they return from excursions and make a note of anything about their presentation that gives you cause for concern and report this to the Community support team.
- Report any safeguarding concerns relating to the residents or their children to colleagues immediately so that measures can be implemented to prevent harm.
- Monitor CCTV cameras to detect any potential intruders attempting to gain access to the site over the site perimeters and keep accurate logs of any activity.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate member of the team.
- Help with the setting up of activities taking place in the activity rooms and book participants in.
- Summon assistance from colleagues in the staff area on the first floor if any person(s) who enters Hope Street appears to be under the influence of substances, behaves in a threatening or menacing way towards others, or is a person who you know is not permittedto access the Hub.
- Summon assistance from the relevant agency (paramedics, police, the fire service, or emergency contractors) in the event of emergencies or serious incidents and act as the key point of contact to ensure they can access and exit the premises safely.
- Proactively pursue good relationships with neighbours and the local community and respond quickly to any complaints or concerns raised.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Experience**
- Significant experience of working in front-facing, people-focused environments
- Experience of working with people from disadvantaged backgrounds experiencing multiple issues (homelessness, mental health and/or substance use problems, domestic abuse, exploitation, and involvement with the justice system).
- Experience of completing risk assessments and identifying behaviour or other changes that could indicate a change in risk of serious harm.
- Experience of managing critical incidents and liaising with emergency services.
- Experience of setting and maintaining professional boundaries with the public whilst delivering an excellent standard of service.
- Experience of managing difficult behaviour and ability to challenge this and de-escalate tension in a safe manner.

You may be required to attend meetings and other events outside of normal working hours, and/or outside the locality.

Your main place of work will be 30-32 The Avenue, Southampton, however you will be expected to have a presence across the Hope Street community and undertake any travel around the country on behalf of the organisation when required.
