**Main Job Functions**:
The purpose of the role is to aid the Counter function of the Parts Department in a professional manner to ensure that the department runs smoothly with deadlines being met. The Trainee Parts Counter Staff is expected to act as part of the Parts Team and as such the job will involve supporting other members of the team and Workshop staff.

**Duties/Responsibilities**
- Ordering Parts using electronic dealer catalogues whilst keeping the costs down by shopping around and at the same time ensuring a prompt delivery to ensure vehicles processed as quickly as possible.
- Updating the company scheduler accordingly.
- When a Part goes on back order then try to locate from other sources.
- Serving the workshop departments with there daily consumable requirements and logging these appropriately.
- Making Number Plates as required by relevant departments.
- Serving on front counter, receiving deliveries, checking parts and distribute accordingly.
- Deal with any supplier related issues. (i.e the delivery time of the parts.)
- Maintain high level of housekeeping within the Department and maintain and carry out regular stock checks on items held in stock.
- Helping the counter, with Tyres receiving deliveries and helping with the scrap. Placing orders as well as distributing tyres to relevant techs and maintain an accurate stock control.
- Going to Main Site/Workshops with documents if and as required.
- Input Invoices daily in to the company’s database in a quick and accurate manner.
- Answering telephone calls and record messages accurately, redirecting calls and responding to inquiries (Internally/Externally)
- Maintaining a low parts return rate and returning of unwanted or unsatisfactory goods to suppliers as soon as possible.
- Chase suppliers for Moneys owed for returns that have been sent back.
- Ability to use own initiative and carry out ad hoc duties as required.

**Essential**
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem solving plus decision making skills.
- Good computer skills in Office (Excel/Word)
- Good Keyboard skills.
- Can do attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

**Desirable**
- Valid Driving Licence
- Understanding of the retail motor industry
- Previous Purchase Control experience
- Previous Stock Control Experience.
