Accounting Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as a **Accounting Assistant - Recharges **on our Chippenham site. Working within a busy centralised invoice and transactional function, you will provide centralised invoicing for Finance I&T, managing the relationships with I&T Finance Business Partners and senior management and central teams. Hours:37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, hybrid working attending our office on Tuesday and Wednesday's.
**Salary**:£22,000 pa
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- Capital expenditure Reporting & Back Checks Control.
- Completion of all relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
- Fixed Asset inbox query management
- Half year and full year statutory reporting requirements to support the audit process.
- Completion of ONS Returns
- Provide support for the wider team Finance team.
- Ensure continuous improvement and process improvement.
- Ensure Standard Operating procedures are up to date Other accounting duties and projects as required by the team.
**How will you contribute?**
- Timely accurate capitalisation and disposal of Fixed assets in accordance with the timetable. Work with Financial Services Accountant & Financial Accountant to ensure accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
- Accurate Month End reporting to Day 5 close.
- Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations and query resolution.
- Timely resolution of queries and demonstrable reduction of queries.
- Audit process completed in line with audit plan.
- Examples of process improvement & CI Maintain detailed and up to date Standard Operating procedures and process notes.
**What will you bring?**
- Experience of working in an office environment,
- Studying towards a recognized accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AAT)
- Experience of completion of balance sheet reconciliations,
- Experience of working under pressure, prioritizing and managing competing deadlines
- Demonstrating teamwork and togetherness to achieve goals,
- Ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality/efficiency benefits, Ability to demonstrate strong excel skills.
