Cleaning and Maintenance Supervisor

Complying with the direction of the Centre Manager in all aspects of the operation, by providing quality maintenance and cleaning services for operational services within Kingsland Shopping Centre This includes the ability to manage/carry out reactive repairs and supervise a cleaning team on site.

The role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Caretaker.

This job description is not part of the Contract of Employment and may be reasonably amended.

Note the role is very hands on and there is also a team cleaner that need to be supervised on a day to day basis. The main areas of accountability and personal specification for the position are detailed below:
**Cleaning**

To inspect, on a daily basis, all internal and external common areas of the development and report any defects, repairs, security or health and safety concerns. To undertake general cleaning duties to the prescribed standards as detailed in the site specification including:

- Supervising a small team of Cleaners
- Manage the waste in the Service Yard
- Taking appropriate action in the event of an emergency
- Cleaning interior surfaces, furnishings, fixtures and fittings
- Clean floors and floor coverings
- Maintain the internal/external environment
- Service toilet areas; clean all toilet appliances i.e. toilets, sinks, etc. and replenish supplies i.e. toilet rolls
- To clear and remove rubbish and other items from areas as detailed by the site specification and ensure the security of all areas at completion of duties.
- To maintain stocks of cleaning materials, order from suppliers where required and to control the usage of materials ensuring the cleaning cupboard is kept tidy at all times.
- To report any problems on-site to the Centre Manager/Security Control Room so they may be rectified immediately.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties/request commensurate with this position as designated by the Centre Manager/Security Supervisor/Control Room
- Knowledge of COSHH essential

**Maintenance**
- To undertake minor repairs such as adjusting doors, fixing door closures, changing lightbulbs, Correct reporting of any security/Health & Safety issues, incidents and complaints.
- General upkeep of site PPM maintenance where it does not require specialist works
- redecoration to communal areas where required - Painting centre columns, walls, ceilings, doors on a rolling basi
- To enter all relevant comments/details in the maintenance logs.
- Check all lights around the centre and car park to ensure they are on and functioning during trading hours and for evenings in external areas
- Ensure all doors are functioning correctly.
- Take meter readings every month
- Clearance of blocked drains and gullies in communal areas
- Carry our weekly sprinkler testing
- Assist when required with weekly fire alarm testing
- Vacant unit checks and required remedial works
- Assisting various contractors throughout the scheme.
- Working to maximise on energy saving and create best practice as well as ensuring energy faults are reported/fixed. Replace light bulbs and repairs (if necessary).
- complete a daily report of work completed.
- Ad hock tasks as instructed by management.

Work Schedule and Pay
37.50 hours a week -Flexible working required over a 7 day period, early/lates and to the requirements of business needs

Hourly rate £14.50p/hr after probation £13.00p/hr during 6 month probation
