**Main Purpose of Job**:
To lead a team of communication specialists, in a matrix manager capacity responsible for ensuring the information and communication flows both ways in this critical segment of SJPs Partnership. Business Partnering with key senior team members to co-create and implement communication strategies, understand audience requirements and create a model where comms are governed centrally but evolved locally and industry, regulatory, and operational communications are shared in a tailored and timely way.

Making key communication decisions, working with senior roles, influencing, thinking strategically but also tactically executing when needed.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Lead a core and satellite team who create, develop and deploy communications that support the business to business agenda for Partnership audiences.
- Oversee and advise on the channels and mechanisms that ensure communications are timely, targeted and integrated and consistent with overall Partner communication strategy.
- Encourage innovative and creative approaches to the delivery of operational, Technical and regulatory updates that are essential to the ongoing safety of a regulated and growing business.
- To work with leaders in identifying opportunities to promote the development of communications best practice and capability and drive consistency of approach across Field Management Team team members.
- To proactively contribute to development of enhanced Partner relations.
- Work with Editorial and Planning lead to design and conduct regular feedback and measurement.
- Leads matrix teams across Communication & Events function, divisions and external suppliers to create and deliver communication programmes and Initiatives.
- Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions and sets clear objectives and measures.
- Provides peer leadership to senior team members within Cirencester Head Office and the Field Management Team.

**Who we’re looking for**:

- Significant experience of planning and developing best practice internal communications, preferably within a financial services or retail environment
- Proven experience of B2B environments and how internal communications can support the aims of the business and the engagement of the audience.
- Experience of performing at a strategic level, working with senior team members in challenging environments.
- Professional knowledge communication theory and practice and experience of managing a full range of internal communications channels.
- Experience of leading, coaching, developing and managing a team of communications professionals.
- Ability to develop a good understanding of the business strategy, the Partnership model and divisional structure.
- Detailed understanding of audience segmentation and the difference in their needs.
- Broad knowledge of external trends/insights and recognised methodology in communications and engagement.
- Strong influencing skills and proven ability of building beneficial relationships at all levels.

- The capability to make complex and technical industry jargon accessible for all audiences.

- Able to identify themes and trends and analyse audience requirements.
- Able to manage a portfolio of concurrent activity plans and ad-hoc demands.
- Able to scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects and break down work into the process steps.
- Utilises a variety of tools and techniques to aid situational understanding and steer activity toward successful outcome.
- Able to pro-actively influence cross-functional teams across the business.
- Anticipates and adjusts for problems and reviews performance against goals.
