Full-time
£55,000 to £60,000 per annum, plus car allowance

Due to successful business growth, we are seeking an experienced manager to join the Sandstone family in the role of a Clinical Governance Manager/Group Clinical Lead. As the Clinical Governance Manager/Group Clinical Lead, you will be a leading face in the delivery of person-centred care that helps set us apart.

Reporting directly to the Board, you will work closely with the management of our eight sites, but predominantly focus on clinical governance and standards within our 4 nursing homes, also assuming clinical leadership duties where required.

This important role provides Clinical Lead cover for vacancies and annual leave, meaning you will be required to travel and, at times, stay away from home. Due to the extensive geography of the eight homes, you would ideally reside within NW England/North Wales and be able to commit to regular overnight stays and occasional weekend working.

Job Purpose:
To work closely with the Directors leading clinical quality and the Clinical Governance strategy within Sandstone Care Ltd
To take an active role in ensuring compliance with all Sandstone Care Ltd regulatory requirements.
To manage the clinical governance agenda in the further development of robust systems and processes throughout Sandstone Care Ltd in relation to clinical governance and quality, which underpins safe clinical practice. The role encompasses risk management, resident experience, clinical audit and clinical effectiveness programs.
To display and promote excellent clinical leadership. To promote excellent customer service throughout the homes, facilitating and supporting corporate and local customer service initiatives.
To support staff within Sandstone Care Ltd to deliver high quality services to residents and their families. The post-holder will be an integral member of the Senior Management Team.
To focus on the continuing development of a seamless clinical governance and risk management strategy which fosters multidisciplinary working across the homes within Sandstone Care Ltd.
To work in partnership with Registered Managers and Clinical Leads within Sandstone Care Ltd nursing homes to drive clinical standards across the group and ensure consistent delivery of best practice.
To provide holiday and sickness cover for Clinical Lead roles as required.

Principal Role & Accountabilities, Includes but not limited to:
Support all departments / teams in ensuring compliance with CQC Essential Standards and supporting to maintain Provider Compliance.
Co-ordinate the compilation of the quarterly Governance reports, and provide support in the compilation of other Governance related reports including for example: Infection Control report and Serious Incident (SI) reports, and ensure timely submission.
Collate all required information and ensure timely submission of accurate

data to inform the corporate Clinical Scorecard.
Initiate the investigation of Adverse Incidents and Complaints in a timely manner and manage Adverse Event log and reporting of SI’s.
To support staff in the collation and submitting of RCAs within timescales as per the Clinical Governance policy.
Strive to continually develop own knowledge and clinical practice and actively assist and encourage others to continually professionally develop.
Demonstrate and support a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security.
Support and enable equality, diversity and rights.

Clinical Governance:
Assess, monitor and review performance to ensure full compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) National Minimum Standards, along with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) Together with the Directors of Sandstone Care & The Head of Operations, lead the preparation for inspection or assessment visits from the CQC and other relevant regulatory bodies and work closely with the Home Managers in leading the accurate and timely reporting process to the CQC.
Support the efficient co-ordination of the Clinical Governance Committee to ensure it functions effectively, according to an annual plan and in line with Sandstone Care Ltd Strategy.
In collaboration with the Directors & Head of Operations, review and update relevant strategies, policies and procedures including the Clinical Governance Strategy.
Proactively manage the incident reporting system, ensuring all incidents are investigated in a timely manner and the lessons learnt are shared with all relevant teams and team members.
Act as an exemplary role model in quality improvement offering advice and support to others, whilst ensuring continuous governance compliance throughout the hospice.

Clinical Leadership:
To work closely with all clinical departments promoting resident focused quality care.
Be a point of contact for the Senior Management Team (SMT), clinical and non-clinical staff.
To act as an exemplary role model, and ensure evidence based practice is undertaken within all clinical teams taking every opportunity to promote innovative practice.
Be prepared to cover Clinical Lead roles during periods of absence, sometimes at short notice, throughout the region. This may occasionally require overnight stays.
Lead, support and empower staff to realise their full potential.

Knowledge & Experience:
Qualified RGN with active PIN
Educated to degree/postgraduate level in a clinical discipline.
Experience of operating at a management level within a clinical role
Experience in clinical governance and quality assurance
Demonstrable experience in developing productive relationships with strong teams, identifying improvement opportunities and influencing change
Qualifications in organisational governance e.g. ISO9001 auditor or equivalent is desirable, though not essential

Demonstrative commercial acumen; familiarity with P&L, budgetary management etc.
