Job Title: Information Security Lead Acquisitions and Divestitures

Location: Port Sunlight Offices & Factories

JOB PURPOSE

This Information Security Lead (ISL) role is enabled and empowered to act on behalf of the Business Information Security Officer for Acquisitions, Mergers, and Divestitures across Unilever’s acquisitions and divestitures activities. This includes cyber risk assessment across the domain and risk advisory on appropriate risk mitigation approaches, managing any security exceptions which arise in the area, cyber incident response where relevant, elevating and reporting into the central Cyber Security function, and enabling secure delivery of new technology solutions to our organization. These activities will be conducted with a ‘Risk Based’ approach to help individual businesses manage cyber risk.

Role Summary:
Key areas under the role delivered by the ISL team include:

- Aligning cybersecurity participation and influence at the earliest stages of acquisitions and divestitures, as well as for Unilever International.
- Partnering with regional BISOs to ensure appropriate cyber risk mitigation is ongoing for acquired businesses.
- Tailoring cyber training and awareness for acquired businesses in alignment and partnership with the Cyber Training and Awareness Lead.
- Acquired Business cyber security engagement, solution engineering, risk advisory across, and oversight as well as establishing and leading a council of Acquired Business heads of cyber security with the Unilever CISO.
- Deploying and running security tooling and other security services, where agreed, for acquired businesses in conjunction with the Tech & Ops team.
- Cyber security solution engineering and risk advisory across businesses during the acquisitions and divestitures processes, as well as for Unilever International, assuring appropriate risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting are completed.
- Driving and assuring secure behaviors in acquired businesses once bought by Unilever or during the divestiture process.
- Developing and delivering risk reports for acquired businesses.
- Providing standard and control feedback, based on local implementation requirements to the GRAC team to help shape global policies and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for cyber security advisory during all Acquisition and Divestiture activities.
- Responsible for leading the Cyber Security component of the Due Diligence phase of the Mergers & Acquisition lifecycle, covering threat profiling, risk assessment and controls assessment as an integral part of the wider M&A process.
- During transaction execution and integration phases complete the Risk and Controls Assessment and agree and monitor an appropriate remediation plan, where necessary.
- In the ‘business as usual’ phase ensure on going engagement with the acquired business.
- Responsible for an on-going programme of education, engagement and risk-based assurance.
- Partner with Acquired businesses to understand their Cyber Security processes and technology needs and translate these into clear scope, objectives, requirements and deliverables.
- Accountable for ensuring SOC visibility across Acquisition and Divestiture activities.
- Accountable for cyber risk reporting within Acquisition and Divestiture activities - to the CISO and to business leaders.
- Accountable for maintaining and effectively directing timely closure of security exceptions in any relevant activities.
- Responsible for providing standards and controls feedback based on local implementation requirements/restrictions in order to refine global policies, standards and controls requirements.

**Experience**:

- The role holder will have previously held a leadership role in Cyber Security.
- Experience of leading major cyber programs across a global organisation.
- Experience in acquisitions and divestitures at a major global organisation.
- Extensive experience in providing thought leadership, and driving a complex change agenda, and an ability to challenge the “status quo”.
