Job Title: Senior Packaging Technologist

JOB PURPOSE

Technical expert, representing R&D to deliver packaging activities and knowledge for- Innovation projects.- sustainability goals.- and savings initiatives.

for EU Skin Cleansing category

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Deliver all the EU region packaging elements to agreed projects, on time in full, by following best practice in packaging project- Work in multi-functional teams from different disciplines inside and outside R&D, such as Formulation, Processing, Marketing, CTI, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance.- Give expert comment input on project scoping.- Establish and follow project networks.- Implement primary packaging designs delivered by global including Masterbatch development. Lead regional pack design development when relevant.- Develop secondary packaging and pallet plans.- Organize and attend factory trials and transit trials.- Be first point of contact for selected suppliers on various aspects of project work e.g. approving samples, resolving issues.- Define and organise required tests and trials to validate packaging components.- Deliver the content of technical specifications for secondary packaging components and pallet plans.- Lead technically focused activities with full teams from across the business.

2. Support technical programmes for alternative material sourcing, mould refurbishments, cost saving projects, simplification programme and quality issues.

3. Responsible for own project portfolio management. Typically for the more strategically important and/or valuable brands.

4. Develop and maintain the relevant technical (packaging) expertise for Skin Cleansing category and applies these to product launches.

5. Coach/Mentor newcomers and Interns to ensure safe and effective support for the whole SCL packaging team.

ALL ABOUT YOU- Ideally Bachelor/HBO degree or equivalent in packaging development.- Relevant working experience with a proven track record on project delivery.- Excellent English skills, both in speaking as well as in writing.- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams, with the drive and ability to control own work programme and make own decisions when required.- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally; in particular the ability to communicate packaging opportunities to non-packaging people;- Ability to get messages across through modern media.- Flexibility in work style and being able to manage a portfolio of projects and tasks in parallel.
