We have an exciting opportunity for individuals with relevant experience, and knowledge to join us as Patient Safety Partners, providing a patient voice in regard to the safety agenda at Sherwood Forest Hospital Trust.

The role of the Patient Safety Partner will enable the Trust to be successful in the continued delivery of outstanding care, recognising the importance of involving patients, families, and carers in improving the safety of NHS care.

A patient safety partner (PSP) will be actively involved in the design of healthcare, across the organisation.

**The PSP role will include**:

- Forming part of the Safety governance committees in the trust.
- Support compliance monitoring and how safety issues should be addressed.
- Provide an appropriate challenge from a public voice perspective.
- Supporting the development and implementation of strategies and policies where appropriate.
- Support learning lessons and how they are implemented and evaluated.
- Attending support meetings and training events.
- Ensuring that any committees that you hold membership consider and prioritise the service user, patient, carer, and family perspective, and that it champions a diverse view.
- Supporting and providing mentorship to new PSPs when required.
- Support clinical audits relating to patient safety when required.
- Adhering to the principles of the PSP agreement.
