Buyer

We are recruiting for an experienced buyer to join a busy purchasing team within a manufacturing environment

The Buyer’s key role is to ensure that the business can provide the right products at competitive prices, at the right time, through all the sales channels

Duties Include:

- Creating Purchase Orders based instructions from the ERP system and/or Stock Controller
- Adding new products to the ERP system following company SOP
- Finding innovative ways to save costs and improve efficiency and streamline processes
- Demonstrate strong negotiation skills with existing and new suppliers, ensuring the business secures the best prices on materials, delivery etc. (Working in conjunction with the Logistics department)
- Monitor outstanding Purchase Orders and chase Suppliers to ensure On Time Delivery in Full
- Actively monitor supplier performance on Quality and On Time Delivery
- Collaborate with the Stock Controller to keep a constant check on stock levels
- Manage and develop relationships with new and existing suppliers and source alternative suppliers
- Manage supplier process for defective or unacceptable goods, services or delivery and determine corrective action
- Supply correct documemntation to the Logistics Coordinator if required
- Ensure you have sufficient product knowledge about the commiditioes assigned to you.
- Obtain products and services at best possible price
- Excellent exp. Of MS OFFICE and confident using in-house IT systems alongside an ERP system, (ability to extract, interpret and manipulate data.)
- Confident analytical skills to interpret data and present to stakeholders
- Strong organisation skills with good attention to detail
- Minimum 2+ years experience working as a buyer within a manufacturing /retail environment preferably with “high numbers of SKUs”

Car driver would be beneficial as location is not serviced regularly by public transport.
