Our client is a highly successful Engineering business in the North East. They are currently looking for a Workshop Assistant to join their site based in Northumberland on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Workshop Assistant will be responsible for site housekeeping, supporting projects and ensuring the efficient running of the workshop.

**The Workshop Assistant Role**

The Workshop Assistant will be responsible for:

- Operate plant and equipment
- Carry out pre use daily checks on all vehicles before use, report any damage caused to and by the vehicle
- Preparation of workshop to suit project requirements, clearing and cordoning as required
- Prepare equipment for painting, carrying out painting and repairs as instructed
- Housekeeping of workshop and site office facilities
- Collection of workshop waste, sweeping floors and general tidying of site as required
- Preparing COSHH items for collection and disposal
- Loading and un-loading of deliveries by FLT and overhead crane
- Ensure equipment is safely transported to required locations, using appropriate plant and equipment
- Maintain paint stores and ensure all supporting health and safety paperwork is available (COSHH and MSDS)
- Transportation of equipment to and from suppliers, calibration companies and between IHC destinations

**About You**

The successful Workshop Assistant will have experience in a similar role ideally within an Engineering or Industrial environment.

Other requirements include:

- Certified to operate workshop plant and machinery
- Mobile plant/forklift/driving licence
- Telehandler License is desirable
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, as required by the role
- A flexible approach in order to work shifts as required to meet project deadlines

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
