The Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm, currently in late-stage development, will see up to 72 turbines located 15 km off the Angus Coast and connect to the National Grid at Cockenzie, East Lothian.

Our projects are poised to play key role in green economic recovery.

Once complete, it will be one of Scotland’s largest single sources of renewable energy and power up to 1 million homes with clean electricity.

**Summary of Assignment**:
As Environmental Lead you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and day-to-day management of environmental compliance for ICOL’s onshore and offshore works, including delivery of key environmental milestones to discharge consent requirements in construction.

You will have key interfaces with the HSE team, including HSE Leads, and site based HSE advisors along with package, site, fabrication and offshore management teams and relevant contractors.

You will act as the HSE department Environmental focal point across all packages and work closely with the ICOL Consents team, key stakeholders, government agencies and onshore and offshore environmental clerk of works.

You will be involved with leading internal and external auditing, monitoring, and measuring of environmental performance, along with sharing best practice to ICOL personnel and contractors.

Travels required: Mainly WFH with some travels to the Edinburgh office for meetings as and when required (around 3 days a month, normally within the same week and communicated in advanced)

Main office: 40 Princess Street, EH22BY, Edinburgh

Working hours: Flexible times - Monday to Friday - 7.5h a day (normally between 8am and 6pm)

**Responsibilities**
- Management of key Environmental deliverables for the project across all packages.
- Lead Environmental strategy and its implementation on the project.
- Lead Environmental incident investigation and reporting on the project.
- Lead Environmental risk management on the project.
- Lead Environmental verification activities at construction sites, fabrication yards and offshore, by completing internal audits and inspections of contractor facilities.
- Lead interface of Environmental management within the Project, working closely with the Consents team to ensure communication between the relevant package managers, site managers, contractors, consenting consultants, key stakeholders, and environmental clerk of works.
- Manage Environmental consultants and technical specialists as required to deliver the implementation of consents requirements / commitments in construction.
- Develop strong working relationships across the Project to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into all relevant contracts and project design and there is continual consent discharge compliance in construction.
- Develop and act as custodian of the ICOL Environmental action tracking register.
- Monitor the contractors Implementation of their Environmental management systems and safe systems of work, along with key documentation, including the Construction phase plans, HSE plans, Environmental management, Waste management and Emergency response plans.
- Monitor the contractors Implementation of Environmental risk and hazard management at construction sites, fabrication yards and offshore vessels.
- Build strong relationships with the package teams and contractors at construction sites, fabrication yards and offshore to ensure Environmental requirements are embedded throughout the life cycle of the construction activities.
- Provide Environmental advice, support and coaching on Environmental compliance requirements to construction site, fabrication yard and offshore based package team members.
- Attend package specific contractors weekly, and monthly HSE meetings.
- Attend ICOL weekly, and monthly package meetings and provide Environmental input as required.
- Provide a weekly Environmental report to the project HSE Manager.

**Skills**:

- Strong proficiency in MS Office suite (particularly Excel & Word)
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent and demonstrable interpersonal, communication (oral and written), leadership and team-working skills
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work with client and contractor site teams and champion Environmental standards through influence and education

**Knowledge**:

- Experience in onshore and offshore environmental management in construction
- Experience in discharging onshore and offshore environmental consents requirements in construction
- Experience in implementing environmental management strategies to ISO 14001 standards and Employers HSE requirements
- Experience in implementing and auditing environmental management systems and safe systems of work
- Experience in conducting onshore and offshore Environmental audits, inspections
- Experience in conducting Environmental incident investigations and reporting
