We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Operational Resilience.

The Global Head of Operational Resilience BCIM will lead and embed operational resilience activities into the Business Continuity Incident Management (BCIM) function.

In this role, you will:

- Define procedures, operating instructions and templates for regions to implement an Important Business Services (IBS) approach to Business Continuity management (BCM).
- Providing direct support to regions and during the implementation of IBS BCM Risk Assessments, Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP), improving our planning for and incident readiness to response and recover.
- Designing the Business Continuity Operating Model required to sustain and continuously improve the change delivered.
- Defining and implementing the changes required to the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Governance and Assurance to ensure the Important Business Services (IBS) has the appropriate controls and oversights of a vital component of IBS recoverability.
- Supporting the implementation of Operational Resilience Mandatory Controls e.g. under Operational Resilience regulation, the requirement is for the Important Business Services (IBS) to be able to recover within their respective impact tolerance.
- Leverage all existing Business Continuity Incident Management (BCIM) services to directly enable end-to-end the Important Business Services (IBS) planning and aligned incident management.
- Delivery of the Operational Resilience strategy through embedding key capabilities e.g. Scenario Development and Testing and Incident Response.
- Ensuring end to end service levels are reviewed, identify issues requiring remediation to individual plan level and resilience activities.
- Latitude to make decisions outside of established procedures but within a policy framework.
- Establishing effective collaborative relations with key business stakeholders including external organisations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Experience in transformation redesign to make real time decisions and pivot operational practices.
- Expert level of resilience framework knowledge, experience of designing and implementing policies and framework within an organisation.
- Knowledge and experience in eliminating risks.
- Effective management to work across global functions, multiple disciplines
- Experience in working in an Agile environment
- Ability to deliver against commitments and ability to dynamically adapt interpersonal style to build effective relationships and be self sufficient
- The role requires a comprehensive understanding of how all value units / products / regions / legal entities collectively integrate, alongside a comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of HSBC.
- Working knowledge of HSBC and ability to navigate different Global Businesses/Functions
- Key stakeholder management and partnership relationships across multiple functions
- Works collaboratively across DCOO and Corporate services functions.
- Provide strategic operational leadership for colleagues within Corporate services and more widely as required
- Promote a positive work culture based on respect for people, integrity of actions, creativity and collaboration leading to increased productivity
- Experience in driving change and working/delivering at pace
- Experience in technology and innovation is preferred
