**Job summary**:
This is a great time to join the Investment Directorate. As Head of the Special Projects and Private Office (SPO) team, you will be responsible for three key Investment Directorate areas.
- Oversight of account management strategy, to help to make investor-facing teams’ activity as productive as possible.
- Planning and delivery of investment-focussed events, to promote the UK as a destination for inward investment, to support the investment agenda, and to ensure that these events support wider account management engagement.
- Line management and support of the Director Investment’s Private Office team.

**Job description**:
Your team will comprise two G7s (grade 7) and one SEO (Senior Executive Officer) in the Special Projects team, and one G7 and one EO (Executive Officer) in the Private Office.
- You will need to build extensive networks through and beyond the department, and continually review and improve activity.
- You will need to be skilled at negotiating different positions - e.g. between overseas posts, the Office for Investment, and Ministerial offices.
- For some high-profile events, such as the Global Investment Summit and its follow-on activity, you will need to engage effectively with No. 10.
- The Investment Minister will be one of your key customers, and aligning ministerial engagement with investors and with wider account engagement will be an important deliverable.
- You will need to remain focussed on achieving genuine outcomes from account management and events activity, such as securing additional revenue which is aligned with other government objectives such as Net Zero and Levelling Up.
