The UHL transformation team was established in May 2020 with the objective of leading and supporting transformation of the service into a modern, efficient and financially sustainable deliverer of secondary care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Quality Improvement (QI) Team to help deliver our improvement strategy and further develop a QI culture within the Trust.

The Improvement Lead - Trainer will work flexibly within the Transformation Programme team. They will be tasked with leading and Coordinating QI Training and identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvements across Clinical Management Groups (CMGs), corporate services and work streams.

They will ensure that improvements are quality focused, embedded within the clinical and corporate services and are, wherever possible, cash releasing. They will also be responsible for managing a small team of Improvement Leads to deliver the improvements.

The Transformation Programme team has been established to develop, drive and deliver quality and efficiency improvements across the Trust.

The Improvement Lead - Trainer will not only help deliver a number of specific projects and work streams but more importantly will be tasked with helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement across all 17,000 colleagues in the Trust through contributing to development and delivery of strategic initiatives.

They will be our Trust-wide ‘QI Trainer Lead’ and as such will be a key source of improvement expertise for the Trust and link with QI coaches across the trust.

The QI Team sits within the Transformation team alongside Clinical Audit and focuses on the development of QI Culture within the Trust through training and support of improvement projects as well as leading improvement activities.

Currently the team comprises of a group of 5 individuals with a mix of backgrounds, including operational, quality improvement and manufacturing.

We work as a team and with a positive attitude support each other to achieve our collective and individual objectives for the ultimate benefit of the Trust and the patients.

- Develop and deliver QI training content in line with Transformation team objectives to develop QI culture within UHL.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a wide variety of projects and initiatives across the Transformation Programme.
- Ensure these projects and initiatives are delivered on time, to quality standards and in a cost effective manner, adjusting plans as required.
- Support the development of project plans over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
- Effectively lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver the agreed projects on schemes identified.
- Work with other members of the Transformation Programme team to identify impacts and interdependencies within the programme and wider Trust operations.
