Our customer is an industry leading tech start-up based in Reading (UK) and is recognised, and used, internationally for its expertise in the archiving and digital preservation of valuable data across a range of industry sectors.
After completing a successful investment round, they are looking to increase pipeline generation and sales, which includes focusing on a dedicated team at the front-end of the sales cycle.

**The Role**
They are looking for an eager, friendly, and well-spoken sales development representative (SDR) to help expand their customer base. The SDR’s responsibilities include generating leads and engaging with potential customers, with the ultimate goal of facilitatingsales.
- Exceptional communication skills - this includes both writing and during conversation/phone calls
- The ability to learn quickly and take on feedback well
- Understanding of our customers challenges and requirements.
- Confidence to handle rejections/objections - and turn these experiences into learnings
- Hunger and drive to exceed set targets
- Work independently while striving to continually improve.
This role will make up a team of two SDRs, both who report into the Marketing Director.
**Responsibilities**:
The main responsibility of the role is to build pipeline through both inbound and outbound sales prospecting. This will include:
- Create your own targeted contact lists based on location, company profile and job functions
- Identify and qualify possible leads through initial intro calls - during these calls the SDR will demonstrate an understanding of the customer requirements, and how the company can support them
- Manage and nurture inbound leads through good qualification and use of CRM (HubSpot).
- Nurture inbound marketing qualified leads (MQLs) with the aim of converting to sales qualified leads (SQLs)
- Follow up in a timely and considered manner with lists provided by marketing (e.g. webinar or event attendees)
- Following up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not purchase any goods or services.
**Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in science or business studies.
- Min 1 years’ experience as a Sales Development Representative; preferably with experience of generating leads/selling to pharmaceutical and biotech organisations or within a B2B tech environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to listen, relate and influence decision makers across the organisation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence, tact, and a persuasive manner
- Solid organisational capabilities
- A professional, self-starter - able to act on own initiative with drive and determination
- Experience with a start-up or small company is desirable.
