Interaction Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and talented individual to join our client’s team as a Punch/Press Operator based in Newton Aycliffe.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:45 to 17:30.

**Salary**: £10.42 rising to £10.54 following a successful probationary period of 12 weeks.

**Role Objective**:
As a Punch/Press Operator, your primary objective will be to operate machinery in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and training matrices. Your role will involve efficiently and reliably operating various metal objects while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and production goals. You will collaborate closely with production leadership to ensure objectives are met and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Liaise closely with production leadership to understand and agree upon production objectives.
- Meet team and individual targets and objectives within agreed-upon timelines.
- Perform efficient and reliable operations of metal objects to required quality standards.
- Assist in evaluating engineering drawings and ensure their accurate implementation.
- Conduct necessary safety checks and maintain documentation in accordance with standards and regulations.
- Perform pressing, punching, and fabrication tasks using various equipment and technologies.
- Carry out Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on machines, coordinating repairs or services as needed.
- Participate in company initiatives for new working methods, practices, and information systems.
- Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset and assist other production areas as required.
- Maintain awareness of health and safety requirements, ensuring compliance within your team.
- Develop and maintain safe systems of work and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Investigate and report accidents and dangerous occurrences promptly.
- Ensure proper usage of personnel protective equipment (PPE) and control measures.
- Conduct and record risk assessments for department activities.
- Maintain a safe working environment, including adhering to 5S principles.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Solid knowledge of engineering and material technology.
- Proficient in interpreting design drawings and working with hands-on tasks.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to think creatively.
- Experience with Lean principles and practices.
- Excellent team player with a flexible approach to work.
- Positive "Can Do" attitude towards problem-solving and decision-making.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
