Mushroom Farm Labourer

**Responsibilities**:

- Stooping, cleaning, and handling heavy hot and cold loads.
- Mixing soil and creating substrates for mushroom cultivation.
- Inoculating mushroom spawn and maintaining optimal growth conditions.
- Operating an industrial autoclave for sterilization.
- Harvesting and packing mushrooms for delivery.
- Willingness to interact with the press when required.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative, as lone working may be necessary in the remote country setting.

- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the small, family-owned farm environment.
- A non-smoker.
- Understanding and alignment with our mission of using the finest mushrooms to empower ourselves, our bodies, our environment, and our community.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting heavy loads and working in cramped, dark, and humid conditions.
- Previous experience in mushroom farming or a similar agricultural setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Flexibility in working hours, as mushroom cultivation requires attention throughout various growth stages.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- A passion for sustainable farming practices and an appreciation for the natural beauty of our farm's wild location on 15 acres in an isolated country setting within the wilderness.

**Note: P**lease understand that while mushrooms themselves may have a glamorous reputation, the process of growing them can be physically demanding and involve working in cramped, dark, and humid conditions. Additionally, the ability to work independently, use initiative, and adapt to the isolated country setting within the wilderness is crucial.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
