A global manufacturing business require a Technical Buyer. Applicants need procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering, and ideally have previous exposure to NPI.

The Technical Buyer will join a team of Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. The role will focus on the procurement of direct materials for new and existing product ranges. The Technical Buyer will at times, act as a link between engineering and the supply chain.

Specific duties of the Technical Buyer include:

- Supply market intelligence, supplier relationship and supplier development activities
- Act as procurement representative for the NPI process
- Strategic sourcing activities - supplier evaluation, run tenders, negotiate and award
- Collaborate with engineering to investigate new sources of supply, technology, material or manufacturing methods
- Work with Procurement Manager to improve procurement processes

Technical Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

- Procurement experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
- Previous exposure to NPI
- Ability to maintain and improve key supplier relationships
- Ability to negotiate and conduct supplier assessment activities
- Strategic sourcing experience
