Hartlepool, United Kingdom North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and innovative, multidisciplinary Community Pain Management service as a senior member of the team. You will also be joining a diverse medical psychology team, working within an acute setting across many clinical specialties. This provides excellent additional opportunities, including peer support, supervision and CPD alongside psychology colleagues.

Community Pain Management (CPM) is a joint venture between psychology and physiotherapy, which aims to deliver high quality, evidence-based interventions for individuals living with chronic pain. The integrated nature of CPM offers the opportunity to work closely alongside physiotherapy colleagues and also across the wider MDT. This includes working alongside pain consultants and nursing colleagues, providing consultation, sharing psychological formulations and encouraging psychological thinking across the MDT.

The post-holder would be part of the psychology provision in the integrated pain service working across a specialist MDT. They would also be part of an expanding medical psychology service, working alongside Clinical and Counselling Psychologists and Psychological Therapists. They would provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention within the Community Pain Management pathway, this will take the form of individual and group based approaches. The post-holder will also provide consultation to colleagues on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment.

The post-holder will deliver teaching/training to staff within the department and with staff from other disciplines, and they will provide clinical supervision to psychology colleagues within CPM.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to service evaluation and audit projects with the aim of improving services, and they will be provided with support to further develop these skills, as required.

At North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust our main priority is, and always will be, to provide safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones. We want our organisation to be the best place to work with the right staff, in the right roles, at the right time, to ensure we deliver exceptional patient care and experience.

We will support staff through providing an inclusive and supportive workplace with health and well-being initiatives, staff benefits and opportunities for personal and professional development. Staff recognition is very important to us; as well as performance reviews and appraisals, we recognise staff through Star and Team of the month, colleague recognition - a note of thanks, Managers Awards, Shining Stars and Service Awards.

We recruit for values and “Together we are North Tees & Hartlepool”
