Board Secretary

NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is looking for a dynamic forward looking Board Secretary to join the Corporate Governance Team. This is an exciting time to join the team which is part of the People, Culture and Engagement Directorate within the newly established ICB.
As Board Secretary you will be responsible for delivering support to the Chair, Chief Executive, Executive and Non-Executive Directors as well as Partner Members on the board. You will also work closely with the ICB Executive team to deliver an excellent service in supporting the delivery of the ICB's objectives and priorities.
Main duties of the job
The Board Secretary is a key appointment responsible for ensuring the delivery of all aspects of good corporate governance including the successful implementation of the ICB / ICS governance framework and constitution. This will include the establishment of the NHS ICB statutory Board/committees, sub-committees and support the planning of a robust cycle of business and appropriate information systems that supports the Board / committees.
Working in a complex and change environment, key to this role will also be ensuring that the Board, and its committees, are presented with high quality information to enable it to make appropriate decisions and that comply with statutory and regulatory obligations.
As the ICB is a new organisation the postholder will be expected to develop new corporate governance systems, processes and policies which will be aligned to the ICB governance structure. As well as learning and commanding the established governance systems that the organisation has in place (Civica, 4Risk and Diligent).
The postholder will work closely with the Associate Director of Corporate Affairs (ADCA) and will be expected to deputise for the ADCA where required.
The postholder will be expected to provide advice on relevant constitutional and regulatory matters to the ICB Chair, committee chairs and the Executive as well as board members of the ICB, as required.
