An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join The Resuscitation Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NGH Foundation Trust. The Resuscitation Team is looking for a Registered Nurse/ODP or equivalent with experience in an acute care area, to support and develop our Resuscitation Team.

We are a team of expert practitioners who educate, support and drive forward improvement in resuscitation and deteriorating patient care.

The Resuscitation team teaches resuscitation skills to all staff in the trust and provides structured and accredited courses to meet educational requirements and CQC standards. They provide expert advice in resuscitation within clinical settings and undertakes initiatives on behalf of the trusts Resuscitation Operational Group.

Who we are looking for;
- The successful applicant must be a registered member of a clinical profession.

You will require commitment and experience in the clinical and educational practice of resuscitation and be proficient in the teaching and assessment of a wide range of resuscitation skills. You must have demonstrable substantial experience of teaching a multi-disciplinary audience. You must be willing to work towards achieving ILS and ALS provider and instructor status.

Be an active member of the ‘Cardiac Arrest Team’ alongside the Resuscitation Practitioners, in a supportive/advisory capacity (as appropriate).

In conjunction with the Resuscitation Practitioners assist in the planning, writing, implementation, and evaluation of policies/protocols relating to resuscitation.

In conjunction with the Resuscitation Practitioners initiate and participate in local/national research, trials, and audit.

In conjunction with the Resuscitation Practitioners, be responsible for risk assessments relating to the provision of emergency resuscitation equipment and patient safety in clinical areas.

Be involved as necessary in incident reviews and investigations.

Offer professional advice on current trends in resuscitation training and equipment.

Be a source of expertise and provide an advisory service to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals staff, other Health Care Professional, patients, relatives, and carers.

Responsible for competency-based assessment of Sheffield Teaching Hospital staff in their resuscitation knowledge and skills.

Analyse sensitive data related to 2222 calls, taking appropriate action as required where potential risks are identified.

To present information and evidence to key forums.
