Key Relationships Actively works towards developing and maintaining effective working relationships both within and out with the organisation. Fosters and maintains strong links with staff in practices (particularly screening champions), PCNs, the Leeds office of West Yorkshire ICB, Public Health, NHS England and other stakeholders. Explores the potential for collaborative working and takes opportunities to initiate and sustain such relationships. Uses negotiation and influencing skills to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders Core Functions This role would provide the following: To provide high quality clinical leadership maintaining high standards of professionalism throughout Help address inequalities when prioritising workstreams and actions Senior clinical oversight to ensure that work to improve cancer screening is being done in the most efficacious way possible and that there is consistency across the city Assurance that value for money is being achieved from payments to practices under the screening champion programme, in terms of actions undertaken by screening champions to engage patients (i.e.

direct patient contacts) Leading regular update and education sessions for screening champions along with monitoring engagement with these opportunities and using lack of engagement as a prompt to check-in with colleagues who may be struggling with capacity to support the programme Provide support and senior mentorship for practice staff (for example, where colleagues may lack confidence or experience in talking to patients about screening or where they may feel they lack sufficient influence or capability within their practices to fulfil the screening champion role) Development of relationships with senior level clinical and practice management staff in primary care, ensuring buy-in to this work to increase screening uptake and prioritisation at a practice level Motivation of primary care staff (including screening champions and PCN care coordinators and cancer care co-ordinators) to increase screening uptake Help support proportionate recording of screening-related patient contacts, e.g. ensuring staff are aware of the code they need to enter so that direct contacts are recorded for quarterly monitoring, whilst emphasising the need to adhere to standards of accuracy and probity Support Primary Care Screening Champions, PCN Care Co-ordinators, Cancer care Co-ordinators and other relevant staff (where appropriate) in communicating with patients, ensuring that every contact counts when increasing screening uptake Supporting practices to provide dedicated time/resource to optimise screening processes and sharing learning where identified and appropriate. Providing specific feedback for practices on their screening uptake which might provide basis for practice quality audit projects, internal Target, appraisals etc. Provide comprehensive and accurate updates/papers as required to help provide assurance on achievement of relevant KPIs, with the development of rectification plans where KPIs are not achieved.

To lead and develop action plans within target population/practice/PCN as required/appropriate To plan and organise own workload, including support for members of the citys multidisciplinary team (MDT), PCN, practice team, Local Care Partnerships, patients, carers, ICB, etc within their scope of practice. To attend local and regional meetings of relevance To deputise for senior members of the team, as appropriate Managing Resources Responsibilities Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources within their own sphere of responsibility and identify and highlight similar within the work of cancer screening processes within organisations where appropriate, seeking advice and guidance where required. Manages Self Maintains the highest standards of conduct and integrity within organisation adhering to relevant Codes of Conduct. Participate in the organisations appraisal system, matching organisational aims with individual objectives.

Takes responsibility for own and others health and safety in the working environment. Complies with all organisational and statutory requirements. Ensures that a professional service and image is maintained at all times. Leads in line with agreed values.
