**ROLE OVERVIEW**

A retail stock controller is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels within a retail organization. Their main duties involve monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring timely replenishment of stock, overseeing order fulfillment, maintaining records, analyzing stock data, preventing stock loss, and improving inventory management processes. They work closely with various departments, communicate inventory status, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The specific responsibilities may vary depending on the size and nature of the retail business.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Inventory Management**: Manage inventory levels effectively. This includes tracking stock levels, monitoring stock movements, and conducting regular stock counts. Ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet demand while minimizing excess stock and wastage.

**Stock Replenishment**: Coordinate with buying to ensure timely replenishment of stock. Monitor stock levels, analyse demand patterns, and generate purchase orders to restock items as needed. This involves maintaining good relationships with suppliers and optimizing the balance between stock availability and wastage.

**Order Fulfillment**:Coordinate with store operations and ecommerce teams to ensure accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of products. Monitor order status, track deliveries, and handle any discrepancies or issues that may arise.

**Stock Analysis and Reporting**:Analyse stock data and generate reports on inventory performance. Assess inventory turnover, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and make recommendations for stock optimization. Provide reports on stock accuracy, variances, and other relevant metrics to management.

**Stock Loss Prevention: R**esponsible for preventing stock loss or shrinkage. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between physical stock and recorded quantities.

**Process Improvement**: continuously seek opportunities to improve stock control processes. Identify inefficiencies, propose process enhancements, and implement best practices to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall inventory management.

**Collaboration and Communication**:Collaborate with various stakeholders, including ecommerce, buying, store operations and management. Communicate inventory status, provide updates on stock availability, and address any stock-related queries or concerns.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience in retail preferred but not essential
- Demonstrable experience of key accountabilities
- Able to undertake shift work across all days of the week and weekends
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Able to lift boxes and stretch
- Strong excel and MS office skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confident communicator & team player
- Cooperation and collaboration with colleagues
