Overview:
As the Head of Financial Reporting for our European operations, you will be responsible for shaping our financial strategy, ensuring compliance with European regulations, and contributing to the success of our global aviation business. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Accounting, you will lead the European reporting and compliance function and collaborate closely with colleagues across different continents.

**Responsibilities**:
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Financial Reporting
- Manage the financial reporting and compliance functions for nine European entities in the UK, Ireland and Malta.
- Prepare consolidated and standalone financial statements in accordance with local regulatory reporting requirements to facilitate annual audit process with external auditors.
- Own the relationship with external auditors and ensure the timely completion of all statutory accounts.
- Manage all technical accounting matters and proposed accounting standards, including research and drafting technical memos for a variety of complex and non-standard transactions for FRS 102, IFRS 102 and Italian GAAP, as applicable.
- Work closely with external auditors to support the annual audit including coordinating all audit requests.
- Coordinate and work cross-functionally with other departments, including legal, finance, and tax to ensure all documents are filed timely and accurately.
- Assist with managing the intercompany reconciliation process to support balances are reporting accurately and consistently across all statutory reports.

Compliance
- Manage and oversee control implementation and process improvement across the various entities and accounting teams to improve accounting, financial reporting, and IT processes.
- Make recommendations for process improvement opportunities to help support the accounting requirements for a scaling and growing business.
- Manage all local VAT responsibilities and liaise with global Director of tax and our third party provider to ensure all tax calculations and filings are completed timely.
- Research and prepare accounting papers for tax positions and recommendations for review with third party providers.
- Develop transfer pricing best practices throughout our European entities.
- Oversee and coordinate relevant policies and agreements between entities for operational requirements.

Ad Hoc
- Maintain strong relationships with European-based leaders and departments, including operations and sales.
- Assist with due diligence research and analysis and other transactional support as needed.

Qualifications:
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; ACA/ACCA/CPA required.
- Experience in a top tier audit firm required.
- Extensive experience in a multinational environment with different currencies and statutory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of European financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Good familiarity with FRS 102 and IFRS.
- Prior experience in the aviation industry is advantageous.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detailed knowledge of VAT (UK and European).
- Flexibility to occasionally accommodate the working hours of colleagues in other time zones as well as being flexible to the demands of supporting a business that operates.
- Experience with Oracle accounting system and OneStream reporting suite preferred.
