Medication Safety Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior pharmacist to join the team as Trust Medication Safety Officer (MSO).
Based within the Pharmacy Medicines Advice and Effectiveness (MADE) Team you will be responsible for delivering, developing and evaluating defined areas of safe medication practices across the organisation.
You will provide proactive leadership throughout the Trust to develop and maintain a culture which concentrates on patient safety and the Medicines Optimisation agenda.
You will also lead the implementation of all national and local Medication Safety initiatives throughout the organisation, as well as ensuring that all clinical governance issues associated with the safe use of medicines are actioned accordingly.
You will also be expected to be a member of the Regional and National Medication Safety Networks, liaising with other NHS organisations and healthcare providers to disseminate good practice and learn from other experiences.
You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and be able to manage your own workload.
The ESNEFT Pharmacy department benefits from hosting the NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service Medicines Advice Team, and provision of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment facilitated by our aseptics facility.
