Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) build, operate, and maintain clean energy assets to help customers decarbonise. This includes sourcing green energy to provide the project expertise, financing options, and industry-leading operational capabilities to deliver energy efficiency and save our customers money so they can balance the demands of the planet and profit.

We have an exciting opportunity for a **Head of ICT Architecture and Data Platforms** to report to the CBS Director of ICT and Business Transformation. You will contribute to the delivery of sustainable, zero-carbon, innovative and high-quality design solutions for ICT Architecture and CBS Data platforms.

To succeed in this role, you must have a significant technical background as well as good experience in solution design within a highly matrix organisation. You will lead a team of Global Enterprise and Solution Architects and be accountable for the Global CBS Data Lake platform team enabling the development of meaningful Analytics & Insights across Centrica business solutions global footprint.

**The Role**

Your key responsibilities:

- Utilise advanced understanding of customer profitability, usage profiles and platform behaviours to reduce operational costs and increase platform stability and agility, ensuring we retain, grow, and improve the value of the customer base
- Defining the technology solution and environment roadmaps to ensure capacity and scalability, as demand and usage evolve within the business. This will be obtained through having visibility and understanding of the entire technology landscape
- Liaising with key IT partners to quantify and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits, and opportunities of IT solutions from an Architecture perspective
- Continuously evolve the multi-region and multi-vendor Cloud, Datacentre, Infrastructure and Shared Platforms in a structured and secured manner within a large-scale and heavily regulated global enterprise
- Identify innovative technologies pertinent to the Target Architecture and lead in the incubation and pilot of these technologies to identify potential business value and technical feasibility
- Inputs in change planning and prioritization process with the business
- To support the radical transformation in the way that ICT services are delivered, through embedding ICT as a key enabler and driver of change in CBS
- Responsible for the implementation of the strategic direction of the delivery of ICT across the CBS business by developing, reviewing, updating, and contributing to the CBS ICT and Digital Strategy, the five-year ICT Capital program and the annual ICT and Digital service plan ensuring these reflect the corporate objectives of the CBS Business and service business plans and ensuring the business is fit for purpose in meeting the future net-zero and decarbonization challenges

**Skills and experience**
- Experience in Leading Architecture practice within a large organization
- Previous Management and Team leadership experience, providing technical leadership across technical resources, program resources, third parties, and the wider business organization
- Experience in a multi-unit organization, advising and collaborating
- Focus on the quality of platform architectures and architectural artifacts
- Experience in team leadership, management, coordination, and mentoring
- Experience in managing complex vendor, supplier, and sub-contractor relationships
- Leverage of Shared Service for business value
- Advanced Statistical Acumen and multi-dimensional analytics using state-of-the-art analytics tools
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing delivery via commercial contracts
- Ability to engage, build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all activity delivers the greatest value
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with LT, technology, business transformation, central IS, finance, and management teams to enable the delivery of industry-leading solutions

**Certifications**
- ICT-related science degree or substantial work experience.
- Certification within Architecture Frameworks, (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman) and cloud technologies
- Certifications within data technologies in AWS, Azure along with AI / Machine learning, Cloud Architecture, or ITIL v4 would be advantageous

**Location**: You can work in Windsor, or at home, we have people working all over the UK but also a range of office locations. Travel may be required to other Centrica locations, or external sites for meetings, working sessions, stakeholder management, etc.
