The Connection is an award-winning PR and marketing agency based in the centre of Darlington that has been representing respected national brands in the kitchen and bathroom industry across the UK for over 25 years.

We have an opportunity for someone with a track record in social media and PR and is enthusiastic to hit the ground running. The primary focus of the role is social media, with an ability to also support PR activity. You will be working in a small, friendly and agile team.

The post is based in a modern, open office environment in central Darlington with free allocated parking.

**Social media duties**
- Social media content planning and creation.
- Social media management and scheduling
- Source and create images, graphics and videos to support social media plan in line with client’s brand guidelines.
- Monitor social media platforms on behalf of clients and ensure customer queries are dealt with in a timely manner
- Analyse and evaluate content to inform approach and to deliver results.
- Produce monthly social media reports for clients in line with agreed KPIs.
- Create and implement advertising campaigns in line with client budgets.
- Identify and manage Influencer collaborations.
- Competitor monitoring.
- Writing case studies using tagged images from social media platforms

**PR duties**
- Working with the team, generate ideas for PR campaigns and events for clients and implement relevant content
- Write engaging press releases, bylined articles, blogs, case studies and award nominations on behalf of clients targeted at both B2B and B2C audiences
- Play an active role in internal PR planning meetings
- Attend client PR meetings both on and off site as required
- Liaise with the team to plan and implement PR schedules
- Liaise with journalists and deal with enquiries
- Manage proactive and reactive PR opportunities in a timely manner
- Co-ordinate products for consumer makeovers and maintain a database of projects
- Monitor trade and consumer magazines for client content and to enhance industry knowledge

**Other duties**
- Any other duties as determined by the Managing Director that relate to the post
- There will be occasional travel to client meetings and industry events that will require out of hours working / overnight stays

**Person Specification**

Essential
- Demonstratable experience of successful management of all social media platforms
- Relevant qualification in PR, social media or marketing
- Strong, demonstrable experience of writing for different audiences
- Experience of planning, writing and scheduling engaging social media content
- Experience of monitoring and reporting on social media accounts
- Attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate at all levels
- Personable with good communication skills and ability to work in a small team
- Creative thinker
- High level of competence in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Hootsuite, Meta business manager, Pinterest campaign manager, Illustrator, InDesign and Canva (or similar software)
- Experience with a range of social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram

Desirable
- Experience of working with trade and consumer press
- Event planning
- Experience of working within a PR department in-house or for an agency
- Interest in home interiors

Salary £25,000 - £30,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £15,000.00-£18,000.00 per year
