**The Role Responsibilities**
**Strategy**:

- Develop the Group's strategy for privacy & 'data sovereignty' compliance, consistent with the vision and strategy for the CFCC Function and in support of the Group's strategic direction and growth aspirations.
- Maintain the Group Privacy and Sovereignty Standards, and keep them under review.
- Promote the culture and practice of compliance with standards (including conducting business within regulatory requirements, and to high ethical standards) within the Bank and embed the Group Code of Conduct and a Here for good culture.

**Business**:

- Build and maintain effective and constructive relationships with key stakeholders that is based on trust, capability and integrity, providing timely, responsive and quality regulatory compliance advice and guidance on privacy & sovereignty compliance, toenable the Group to achieve its strategic objectives.
- Keep abreast of industry best practice in relation to privacy and sovereignty compliance in financial services and provide relevant insight to the Group.
- Work in partnership with country CFCC / Data Protection Officers (DPOs) to provide expert guidance on GDPR and other applicable privacy & sovereignty obligations across the Group's footprint;
- Monitor relevant legislative and regulatory changes in relation to privacy and sovereignty, and advise on associated impact to the Group's business and operational functions;
- Advise on the interplay with, and cross-over between, the regulations on which the Group Privacy and Sovereignty Standards are based and other legislation.

**Processes**:

- Establish and maintain effective processes (such as training, advice and support) to ensure that Standards to address privacy & sovereignty compliance risks are effectively implemented and adhered to by the first line of defence.
- Define, agree & execute the approach to where the CFCC Data Conduct needs to be an escalation point in relation to any processes operated by the first line of defence to manage privacy & sovereignty compliance risks, such as those owned by the Chief DataOfficer (CDO) function (for example, the Privacy Impact Assessment process).
- Develop and deliver training to support capacity within the CFCC function, where required.
- Update ICO registration and manage the annual registration fee payment.

**People and Talent**:

- Promote good privacy & sovereignty compliance practice and standards across the Group.
- Own and maintain mandatory e-learning materials relating to privacy & sovereignty compliance, as appropriate.
- Foster an environment that drives appropriate privacy & sovereignty compliance risk management behaviour, including early anticipation, identification, and mitigation of privacy & sovereignty risks, escalating issues in line with the Group Operational RiskFramework.

**Risk Management**:

- In partnership with the CDO function, define and monitor privacy & sovereignty compliance metrics and assist in determining whether they indicate a need for corrective action, and ensure timely escalation of risks to the relevant risk committee(s).
- Partner with the CDO function to oversee implementation of controls to mitigate privacy & sovereignty compliance risks.
- Ensure privacy and sovereignty risk management controls are regularly tested in accordance with a controls testing plan.
- Lead risk assessments to identify gaps and deficiencies, and help to determine remedial action to correct or mitigate risk.
- Provide expert guidance and support on privacy and sovereignty risk identification and management.
- Ensure proactive and timely identification, assessment, advice and dissemination of evolving legal and regulatory changes / practices and associated risks on privacy & sovereignty compliance across the Group.
- Assist in agreeing the scope of audits and Compliance Monitoring Reviews relating to privacy & sovereignty compliance.
- Support with firm-wide internal audits, insofar as they relate to the management of privacy & sovereignty risks
- Feed privacy & sovereignty requirements into related risk management frameworks (such as third party risk management) to ensure data protection/ privacy & sovereignty risks are appropriately integrated.

**Governance**:

- Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, whilst independently performing own duties.
- Build on and preserve the Group's reputation with external stakeholders.
- Represent the Group at industry fora and with key data protection / privacy authorities.
- Partner with the CDO function to develop innovative and compliant solutions for personal data processing and sovereignty compliance related matters.

**Regulatory & Business Conduct ** - Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations,guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. Help lead the CFCC Data Conduct team and first line stakeholders to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles
