**Job objectives and responsibilities**
- **To manage the residential function of the Centre, ensuring a safe, secure, and environment of a high standard, in line with all legislation, company policies and procedures and all contractual and relevant Home Office standards**:

- **Provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise the efficient and effective operation of the residential function.**

**Main duties**
- Lead the provision of a secure, safe and effective residential environment for residents to ensure that their human rights are valued and all relevant standards are adhered to.
- Develop, review and manage the implementation of an effective Incentives and Privileges scheme for residents ensuring it is fairly and consistently applied.
- Establish and manage an effective induction process for residents to support the effective residential environment.
- Develop, review and manage the implementation of the resident complaints procedure to ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Promote diversity and inclusion in decisions regarding recruitment, promotion and developing the team, so we harness the best local talent and develop a wide range of individuals for future opportunities
- Coach and support staff development to maximise staff performance, motivation and contribution.
- Manage and monitor staff to ensure an effective residential service is delivered in line with contractual obligations and company standards.
- Establish effective communications ensuring that relevant information is processed and disseminated both accurately and to deadline.
- Manage and control relevant budget so that a cost effective service is delivered within set financial parameters.
- Implement and monitor an effective ACDT system to minimise suicides and bullying within the Centre.
- Assist in promoting Health & Safety across the Centre to ensure it is embedded within the residential units and its' requirements are met across the Centre.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Relevant experience of working in a custodial environment is required for this role
- Managerial experience of leading a team of at least 25-50 staff: including through Supervisors / 1st line managers
- Relevant experience of managing budgets for day to day variable employee costs

**Desirable**
- IOSH Managing Safely certificate
- Level 6 Qualification: e.g. Degree Apprenticeship, Degree (BA / BSc), Graduate level Certificates, Diploma or Awards. NVQ Level 6 accreditation in an appropriate discipline.
