Permanent position - with a 6 month probationary period

**Location**: Chesterfield.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a National company that specialises in supporting clients with complex care needs in their own home. We provide bespoke packages of care, so our Personal Assistants are trained to a high level to support their specific clients’ needs. They do not travel to multiple homes as per a traditional domiciliary care provider.

Role overview

You will be required to participate in the out of hours on call rota approx. 1 week. The out of hours service is a 24 hour telephone support line. You will not be required to cover any care calls in person.

**Essential Qualifications/Experience**:
Experience working in the health or social care industry.

Excellent telephone manner and have the ability to work under pressure.

High level of computer literacy, covering Word, Excel, Outlook.

Managing people/motivating teams.

You must have a full driving licence and your own vehicle.

Good attention to detail.

Knowledge of and / or practical experience of Moving & Handling, Personal Care, Medication management. Experience in learning disabilities and autism. A level 3 qualification linked to Health and Social Care preferred but not essential.

Show commitment and a willingness to be flexible and complete a task to specified deadlines.

A pro-active and ‘can-do’ approach.

A compassionate and caring outlook.

Have the confidence and ability to talk to people at a professional level.

Be punctual, flexible and willing to make necessary changes to meet any changing needs of the company in line with the care industry requirements.

Willingness and flexibility to travel to various locations to undertake task such as team meetings, supervisions for staff, review meeting etc.

**Training - personal development**:
HomeCareDirect has its own training department and will facilitate a personal development plan to meet the needs of your specific role, to aid your personal development. You are required to undertake training identified by the company to support your role and responsibilities, some of this will be undertake off site and at varying locations

No hands-on care is involved in this role.

**Hours of Work**:
37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (flexibility required to meet the clients and company needs)

Where required you may be asked to work on days and times other than Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm including public holidays. Time off in Lieu will be offered and only authorised by your manager.

Remuneration

**Starting Salary**: -£21,000 - £23,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Competency is achieved through module based learning, one to one training and external courses. Once this is completed achievable salary would be £26,000

On Call is paid at £30 per day Monday - Friday / £50 per day Saturday & Sunday additional to salary.

Mileage is paid at 48p per mile for the first 10,000 miles, 25p per mile thereafter, Expenses are paid as agreed by your line manager.
