**About the opportunity**:
We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant - Credit Controller to join our Finance department at our Hamilton Office.

As **a Credit Controller **you will ensure timely collection of cash, meet debtor day KPIs and resolve external queries.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Timely collection of outstanding debt
- Investigating and resolving customer queries
- Accurate processing & timely checking of sales invoices & credit notes
- Internal liaison with all departments to ensure job invoicing is up to date
- Ensure accurate backup attached to sales invoices sent externally
- Ability to check VAT treatment for different sector types
- Internal liaison with all departments to ensure queries are dealt with efficiently & timeously
- Monthly aged debt reporting
- Accurate allocation of payments received on a daily basis
- Production of reports as required, such as cash forecasting, Aged Debt & Bad Debt Provision
- Assist FC/FD with any control account discrepancies at month end
- Update and maintain relevant filing systems, databases and reports
- Provide absence cover for other members of the Finance team.
- Any other adhoc duties

**Experience / Knowledge**:

- Experience of working in credit control
- Understanding of Sales Ledger process and impact of debt/debtor days
- Working to deadlines
- Intermediate level knowledge of Excel i.e. Pivot Tables/VLookUps
- Willing to take responsibility, happy to work in a busy and fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible, willing to adapt to new tasks and duties
- Organised, methodical approach to work
- Attention to detail
