**YOU **is a registered charity thathas beenproviding care, support and advice for over 30 years to vulnerable people, working across Hampshire, Portsmouth, Somerset, Dorset, Sussex and the Isle of Wight to give them the tools and resources they need to live independent, secure and valued lives.

**Essential Requirements**

The appointed _DVA Housing Intake Worker _will have:

- Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits including no recourse to public funds
- Ability to work client focused flexible hours, including evenings and form part of an on call rota which may require night time/ weekend call out.
- A driving license with access to a car for business use, with willingness to work across the county and to travel beyond occasionally for meetings and training

**The Role**:
The main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- I hold a case load of clients and manage my diary ensuring I meet the needs of clients as individuals
- I advocate on behalf of clients in a professional and respectful manner, encouraging and enabling clients to have their own voice and develop self-resilience
- I will be the point of contact for the intake of all people referred for crisis accommodation
- I will ensure that all licence and tenancy agreements are signed and saved correctly, and that all rents are applied for and each person pays their rent regularly
- In the case of rent arrears I will report to my line manager, follow YOU’s financial processes and work with each person to support them to pay their rent and maintain their home
- I will carry out weekly health and safety checks and regular audits, ensuring all properties are visited at least weekly
