An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Care Officer at our new Extra Care Scheme, Appleton Court.

Appleton Court is the East Riding's latest extra care scheme. There is a care team available onsite 24 hours a day, to support the tenants of Appleton Court to maintain their independence by providing care and support. We also support with active recovery for adults who require short term reablement care. Appleton Court has 44 modern apartments which provide a home for adults to live independently. The scheme caters for a variety of ages from 18+ the tenants have varying levels of care needs.

As the newly appointed Care Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering care and support to the tenants of Appleton Court. You will be required supervise the Care Workers and support the Senior Care Officers with ensuring a high-level quality service is delivered at all times. Tenant support will focus on outcomes-based care plans, promoting access to community activities, technology enabled care (TEC) and reablement support.

We are looking for a Care Officer who is an innovative thinker, enthusiastic and motivating in leading a shift, has supervisory experience and has previously worked within a social care setting.

The Relief Care Officer & Care Officer rota pattern is a two-week rolling rota which includes every other weekend off.

Week 1
- 32 hours, Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday

Week 2
- Tuesday to Friday

The relief position is a permanent post which requires you to work across the various shift times these are: 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm - 11:30pm & 11:00pm - 7:30am. There may also be times when you could be asked to work across the shift times, such as an 8:00am - 4:30pm shift. The vacancy for this post is 24 hours.

The rota is planned well in advance so you will know the shift you are working with plenty of notice, which will support with ensuring a healthy work life balance is maintained. The relief post is utilised to cover holidays, vacancies and absences, as well as bolstering a shift when the need arises. It does require you to be flexible, but in turn gives variation to your role.

The two Care Officer posts with a set shift time are both working on the 3:00pm - 11:30pm shift. One of these vacancies is for 24 hours and the other is for 32 hours.
