Technical Field Sales - Plastics Additives

Manchester (Home based role)

£45,000 to £55,000 Basic, £20,000 + OTE, Fully expensed Car, phone, laptop, printer, home office and other great benefits.

Job role;
- Technically educated to chemistry/polymer graduate level
- Knowledge of various Plastics end markets, Thermoplastics, Thermoset etc
- Provide an efficient and personable service to all customers and suppliers
- Act as the external communication channel between customer.
- Organise customer visits to minimise travelling time and maximise business realisation and growth.
- Circulate a rolling 8-week forward call plan at the end of each week.
- Ensure that meetings with customers are recorded and circulated amongst the Business Unit within 48 hours. Issues arising are to be communicated to relevant team member, and responsibility for actions agreed for prompt execution.
- Agree prices with the appropriate Manager who will ensure optimised profitability taking into consideration currency, freight, storage and transport efficiencies
- Identify and pursue new supplier potential appropriate to Department focus under the supervision of your Manager.
- Undertake regular performance review with your Manager. Review sales figures with the objective of maximising sales and margin.
- Efficient use of the Company’s CRM.
- Collate, monitor and report market trends and competitor activity to the Business team and, as appropriate, to the supplier.
- React appropriately to market changes with the objective of improving performance.
- When necessary organise joint customer visits with suppliers. Coordinate this with the appropriate Product Manager.
- Participate in Product training seminars. This may mean overseas travelling
- Communicate any information appropriate to customer demand that may impact on BSC warehouse stock levels to the appropriate Manager.
- When required, support the company’s credit control department in securing payment from customers.
- Ensure our activities with both customer and suppliers comply with the governing Health and safety requirements
- Ensure Customer’s Health and Safety, Business and Quality ethics.
- Assist in the investigation of Product specific customer complaints and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.
- Work for continued improvement.
