We are working with a UK human rights charity whose aim is to end female genital mutilation. Based in London their primary aim is to advocate for increased resources towards ending female genital mutilation and raising awareness about how the practice can end.

They are seeking to hire a Communications Lead who will be responsible for supporting their efforts around raising awareness to the development sector and general public, about female genital cutting and what can be done to end it. The Communications Lead will report into the Head of Policy & Advocacy and you will be managing their organisation-wide communications work, supporting advocacy, fundraising and research activities and leading awareness raising activities across their various channels and functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, but growing non profit organisation.

**As a Communications Lead your duties and responsibilities will include**:

- Managing our client's social media accounts and developing social media strategy to grow supporter engagement.
- Create new campaigns across traditional and social media and continue and develop their existing campaigns.
- Create digital content for different platforms and audiences.
- Update their website with news and information on a regular basis.
- Work with the Advocacy and Programmes teams to source impact stories and relevant case studies.
- Work with all team members to develop the monthly newsletter.
- Work with Research and Advocacy teams to launch and disseminate reports, and lead on panel webinar discussions.
- Work with grassroots partner organisations to enhance communications and awareness raising.
- Lead and direct compilation, writing, editing, design, production and distribution of printed, audiovisual and digital materials.
- Create a communications strategy.
- Design and deliver the communications plans in line with the communications strategy.
- Prepare and monitor annual communications budget.

**To be considered for the position of Communications Lead, your skillsets and experience will include**:

- Minimum of 3 years prior experience working in a communications role preferably within a charitable organisation, but other sectors would be considered.
- Experience working with social media and other digital platforms to build audiences.
- Demonstrable experience of responsibility and accountability for delivery of high impact communications strategies.
- Experience of developing relationships with external stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent copy-editing, proofing, verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Willingness to work with all teams towards organisation-wide goals.
- Project management skills and ability to work flexibly, prioritise tasks and manage workload.
