**About the role**:
We are responsible for the registration of births and deaths, marriage and civil partnership preliminaries, marriage and civil partnership registrations, citizenship ceremonies and other celebratory services.
An outstanding opportunity has arisen for Sessional Registration Officers to join our highly professional team and make a significant contribution to service delivery. You will work across Croydon delivering marriages and civil partnerships across our approved venues and in-house ceremony venue at the Town Hall playing a huge part of making history every day.
You will be able to remain calm and in control whilst enabling an enjoyable relaxed environment for events within a strict legal framework. You will deliver the right amount of gravitas for the occasion and inspire confidence and trust from couples, guests and colleagues.
We seek highly professional, well-presented individuals who can deliver a consistently high-quality service and operate in strict accordance with registration law and guidelines.
**You will**:
- Conduct and register marriage and civil partnership ceremonies in a variety of venues.
- Represent Croydon Registration service in your attire, behaviour and professionalism.
- Perform ceremonies in front of large numbers of guests, leading stage management with friendly and professional control.
- Ensure ceremonies are performed legally.
- Ensure all customers are given a memorable service to our diverse customer base.
**About you**:
- With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you must be a confident public speaker.
- Desirable to have access to a vehicle but not essential.
**Please note, you must be available to work on weekdays and weekends throughout the year.**
**Sessional Registrars will also be entitled to receive rolled-up holiday pay at 12.07% of the earnings paid in the actual pay period.**
Current rates:
Weekdays £35 per session
Saturday £60 per session
Sunday & Bank Holidays £75 per session (rate includes travel time)
Each session is 3 hours.
