**Job Purpose**

1.

To provide effective administration support to the Service Unit and to relieve professional, technical and managerial employees of administrative work so they can make best use of their time and expertise.

**Main Activities (Corporate)**

1.

Be committed to the Council’s Vision and carry out work within the spirit and intention of its core values.

2.

An understanding and awareness of the concept of “Making Every Contact Count” (MECC), attending training where necessary.

3.

To achieve personal targets and help to achieve the Service Development Plan, service standards and performance targets of the service.

4.

To identify and respond effectively to service improvements and change, and make use of the technology available to deliver and improve services.

5.

To contribute to an open and innovative working environment, where ideas can flourish and everyone feels supported, involved and informed.

6.

To work within the spirit and intent of Council policies and procedures, including equal opportunities and diversity policies, and with a customer care focus.

7.

To work within the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Council’s Health & Safety Policy and procedures.

8.

To recognise own strengths and weaknesses, receive feedback openly, and to undertake personal development and learning related to the duties of the job and changes affecting the job, and share knowledge and experience with others within the team to support their learning.
