**Business Process & Systems Controller**

Seaview Blinds is at the forefront of product innovation, bringing to market the next generation of marine shading products. Based in Almodington on the edge of Chichester Harbour area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Business Process and Systems Controller role will encompass many separate tasks that will allow the management of the company and provide critical functions to the day-to-day operation of the business. Without tight control of these aspects the company will be unable to achieve its goals.

We are looking for a smart forward looking individual to help us improve our business by making our processes as simple and effective as possible, eliminating duplication and waste.

This role is to report primarily to the Managing Director.

**Outline Responsibilities**

Business Wide Process Mapping & Developing
- Understanding each individual department and their business processes; what’s good and what requires improvement.
- Create a detailed process map for each department, as well as an overall process map from first contact to invoicing.
- Devising improved processes, bearing in mind the strengths and weaknesses of our systems.

Stock/Inventory Management
- In coordination with the Warehouse Manager, ensure we operate a lean just in time stock process.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed on time to allow for the right qty of parts at the required time.
- Follow up with the supply base to ensure these orders are met in full and on time.

Business System Configuration
- Understanding the capability and options of available software. Working out which is the right option for the business. Configuring the system accordingly.
- Organising the data that the process will rely on - see below.
- Making the system easy for users to use, for example by simplifying menus, revising the lay-out screens.
- Thinking through how to eliminate errors, or at least minimise them.
- Writing user guides and training users.
- Creating reports and dashboards using the system’s capability.
- Controlling users and permissions on the system - who is allowed to do what.
- Troubleshooting
- Project manage the implementation, with clear project targets and deadlines for the supply base to adhere to.

Data Management
- Clarifying which data the business process will require, and what it will produce.
- Obtaining such data from the existing system and spreadsheets.
- Set the correct terminology and ensure it is consistently repeatable.
- Devising data naming conventions so that the data from these disparate sources can be harmonised.
- Preparing Data;
- Cleansing and correcting existing data.
- Translate existing data into the naming conventions.
- Upload and manage all the data into the system to ensure accuracy.

Business System Controller
- Continue to manage the implemented system.
- Ensure naming conventions are adhered too.
- Correct any incorrectly inputted data.
- Train new starters and ensure the system handbook is continuously updated to reflect changes.
- Ensure a continuous improvement in processes as the business grows.
- Map any changes made with require revision control.
- Recommend and implement system improvements, such as new modules or software additions.

Skills set;
- Engineering or Maths Degree
- Ability to problem solve and think around complex problems.
- Good communicator, with an ability to present to small groups.
- An interest in business processes and computer systems
- Aptitude for working with computer systems.
- Ability to handle data in Excel spreadsheets.
- A passion for making things clear, simple, and easy; you care about tidy layout, accurate terminology, and small details such as number of decimal places.
- Good problem-solving approach.
- Good written English; you care about clarity.
- You will have least one year’s experience with one employer:

- Preferably in another business which uses a core stock management system.
- Preferably a couple of years with a couple of employers.
