Working Days and Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)

Travelling for work purposes: No travel for work.

A Senior Information Analyst will be providing a point of expertise for all information and performance reporting for each customer, primarily being the directorates, which deliver the Trusts clinical and corporate services. To provide expert analyticalsupport to ensure delivery of their directorate’s requirements; and support the Business Information Manager (BIM) by being the technical information lead at directorate operational meetings and delivering the agreed priorities. Where required, the SIA willact up on behalf of the BIM.

The SIA will have extensive knowledge of clinical systems, NHS national data sets (specifically for mental health and community), have excellent SQL skills and be competent in the use of business intelligence (BI) tools to automate reports and all relevantinformation to the trust and BIM.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Delivery of Effective Healthcare within the organisation
- Maintain supportive and customer-focused relationships with the directorate business manager(s) and encourage the development of self-service information culture.
- Provide leadership and support for Trust and Directorate information projects, including ownership and management for project plans, risk registers, specification documents, test and communication plans.
- Responsible for providing expert advice to stakeholders and suppliers to design system specifications for data collection and dissemination tools when requested.
- Participate in peer review meetings and initiatives with other directorate information teams.
- Contribute to the design and development of systems using technologies such as business intelligence tools, sustainably improving the trusts efficiency and automation.
- Delivering high quality analytics and ensure the credibility of Trust information is maintained and enhanced.
- Raising specific data risks to the Information Manager where necessary.
- Analyse, interpret and resolve highly complex statistical/information problems where there may be no precedent and where other leading opinions may conflict.
- Maintaining relationships with contract managers, commissioning managers, commissioning service organisations and Leicestershire HIS managers and staff.
- Regularly undertake audits of data quality and develop/improve methodologies for the analysis and/or interpretation of data.
- Participate in supervision via agreed review and appraisal mechanisms.

Essential Experience Skills and Qualifications:

- Must be educated to relevant degree level or must have relevant experience.
- Project Management experience is desirable but not essential.
- Must be able to use BI tools to manipulate and interpret data. i.e., Access/Excel/QlikView/SSRS/SSIS/SharePoint.
- Specific knowledge of QlikView, Rio and SystmOne is also desirable.
- SQL Programming skills
- Knowledge of NHS clinical systems
- Highly numerate.
- Mental Health and Community Health experience.
- Working knowledge of NHS national datasets
- Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection.
- Ability to find key messages and trends within large and complex data sets.
- Own transport or suitable alternative. Dependence on public transport is not suitable for this role
