**Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation (CIO)**

**Job Description - Head of Foundation**

**Hours**: Full Time

**Salary**: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

**Location**: Community House, 46 - 50 East Parade, Harrogate, HG1 5RR

**Responsible to**: Board of Trustees

**Purpose of the Role**

To provide senior leadership of Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation, developing and delivering a strategic plan that increases both the charities and the Football Clubs brand, impact and reputation

Responsible for the financial growth of the Foundation ensuring sustainability and diversity of income streams to enable investment in community based activities and programmes

Ensuring robust policies and procedures are in place to ensure safe and inclusive service delivery

Representing the Foundation on a local, regional and national level, working with key stakeholders including the English Football League Trust and the Premier League Charitable Trust

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic leadership and direction in relation to all of the Foundations activities
- Develop and implement a strategic business plan with a commitment to continuous growth in all areas
- Develop and manage the Foundations finances and budgets across all projects
- Create innovative and sustainable revenue streams for the long term financial viability of the Foundations continued growth and development
- Manage the legal requirements of the Foundation in accordance with its legal status as a charity
- Monitor and evaluate all projects to ensure they meet our aims, objectives and strategy, ensuring trustees are kept informed of activities
- Work in collaboration with all areas of the Clubs business, proactively forging relationships with key staff
- Work with the Club to engage with the business community, creating CSR funding and relationships
- Maintain and develop the Foundations relationship with key bodies such as the PLCF, EFLT etc
- Develop and maintain strong, effective and lasting relationships with key partners in the Harrogate District, and beyond, to support the ambitions of the Foundation and the Club
- Develop and manage all staff employed by the Foundation, with structures in place for delegation to others
- Promote equality and diversity across the Foundations staff, volunteers, participants and partners, and in all aspects of the role
- Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time, at the request of the Board of Trustees, in the interests of the Foundation and/or the interests of the club

**Person Specification**
- An exceptional leader with experience within the sector, or a similar one, with the energy and enthusiasm to drive Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation forwards, increasing our impact and reputation
- It would be desirable for you to have a working knowledge of the sector and/or experience of leading a community foundation or charity
- Experience of community development with a good understanding of local demographics and target groups/areas
- An excellent communicator, skilled at building relationships
- Strategic thinker with commercial astuteness that takes into account the values of the Foundation and Club and their commitment to the community
- Able to develop teams and individuals, nurturing and cultivating enthusiasm and motivation of staff
- An excellent working knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, data protection and equality, diversity and inclusion
- Flexibility in hours of work
