Temporary Part-time Clerk to The Governors

Do you have experience in governance or compliance? Are you an enthusiastic person who works with integrity?
Hours and pattern of work are flexible however being present for the onsite governors’ meetings is essential, which are usually held in the evening.
**Temporary Part-time Clerk to the Governors Responsibilities**
Your duties will include:
- Planning the programme of meetings of the Board and its committees - identifying items to be discussed and liaising with staff and governors
- **Timetabling meetings - notifying attendees and distributing agendas and supporting papers**:
- **Taking, producing and distributing minutes from meetings**:
- **Maintaining a record of membership, notifying of any vacancies and advising the Board on strategies for recruiting members**:
- Maintaining a code of conduct for the Board and a register of financial and personal interests of governors and senior staff
- Facilitating the induction and training of governors
- **Organising self-assessment surveys to ensure that all meetings are conducted efficiently and effectively**:
- Ensuring that the content of the Board website is relevant and up to date and that legal requirements for the Freedom of Information Act are met
- Arranging staff and governor elections as required

**Temporary Part-time Clerk to the Governors Requirements**
- Previous experience in governance, education, Trustee support, compliance, paralegal or legal secretary
- The understanding of the role of Clerk to the Governors and how it can help the Board and the establishment achieve high standards of performance
- Minimum Level 2 Maths & English
- Demonstrable evidence of successful minute taking and report preparation skills
- Proven ability in developing and improving systems and procedures
- Experience of writing reports at a senior level
- Is enthusiastic, flexible, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Is able to work flexible hours, particularly during demanding committee periods
- Works with integrity and credibility
