**Head of Apprenticeship Programmes**

**The opportunity**

We are advertising an exciting opportunity to join the Apprenticeships Unit as Head of Apprenticeship Programmes. The role will have overall responsibility for ensuring the University's apprenticeship provision is of the highest quality, and compliant with regulatory requirements as set out by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE), Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), Ofsted, Office for Students, and other relevant internal and external regulatory frameworks.

**Typically, you will**:

- Provide strategic leadership for Programme Managers and associated posts within the Apprenticeships Unit to oversee the timely delivery of progress reviews.
- Lead and oversee the efficient and effective allocation of apprentices to Skills Coaches, ensuring caseloads are appropriate and fair.
- Be responsible for line management of Programme Managers and associated posts within the Apprenticeships Unit, in order to ensure the successful delivery of more than 8,000 high quality progress reviews per year.
- Advise and support the academic teams, across all apprenticeship programmes, to effectively manage the ongoing development and delivery of our outstanding apprenticeships, maintaining excellent success rates and proactively addressing issues where required.
- Work collaboratively with managers across Apprenticeship Operations and Business Development, ensuring systems and processes are adopted to reduce risk and enhance the apprentice journey, leading to positive outcomes.
- Work proactively with academic teams, providing leadership to maintain the outstanding Ofsted inspection grade, external quality assurance, and compliance.
- Develop positive internal and external partnerships, supporting apprenticeship management and other related governance meetings.

**What are we looking for?**
- Up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeships in a higher education setting and the Ofsted Inspection regime.
- Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver high performance and achieve high quality provision.
- Experience of managing apprenticeship or other projects and programmes in an education setting ensuring that outcomes are achieved.
- Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver high performance.
- Knowledge and experience of safeguarding learners.
