Assistant Psychologist, Band 4
Permanent, full time - 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join one of our multi-disciplinary teams in Adult mental Health secondary care. The Bromley ADAPT-West team is based in Beckenham and provides the non-psychosis pathway serving the population presenting with Anxiety, Depression, Affective issues, Personality issues and Trauma (ADAPT). There is a sister service on the East of the borough in Bromley.

The post holder will join the ADAPT-W multi-disciplinary team which has an established and embedded psychological therapies provision within the service. The successful applicant will work closely with the psychological therapies team, which is comprised of a number of clinical and counselling psychologists, art psychotherapists and doctorate trainee psychologists.

A large component of the post will focus on the support and co-facilitation of a newly developed DBT and SCM program for the service. Past experience of delivering DBT, SCM or equivalent psychoeducational groups in a clinical setting will be desirable.

Opportunities will also arise to observe and co-run psychological assessments, including neuropsychological or psychometric test administration. There will also be opportunities to join the local systemic family consultation service as well as other clinical observational, co-working or brief intervention initiatives including trauma stabilisation approaches. This will be supported by regular clinical supervision with a member of the qualified psychological therapies team.

Other tasks may include clinical information gathering liaison and analysis to inform a multi-disciplinary formulation, research & audit and delivery of specific evidence based psychosocial interventions within the scope of postgraduate qualification. Oxleas has a wider network of Assistant Psychology positions, including a monthly CPD program for pre-qualification interests.
