We need a skilled and energetic individual to be responsible for helping deliver Warm Wales’ community focused Hardship Relief Scheme project across South Wales.

The focus of the job is to help vulnerable, fuel poor households, particularly those in poor housing stock, with insufficient heating by delivering a range of advice and support interventions that help address these issues.

Key responsibilities
- Delivering advice and support to households, primarily over the phone, with the aim of maximising income, minimising debt and reducing the risks of fuel poverty, including supporting households to access external help available to them
- Building strong relationships with local groups; liaising with local authorities, community groups, third sector organisations etc. to create a presence in the area and generate referrals
- Working with colleagues to arrange publicity, activities and events that advertise and promote the project
- Delivering energy efficiency advice, training or workshops to groups
- Recording engagements with households on the CRM; and making appropriate referrals. Person Specification
- Experience of community working or working with individuals
- The ability to relate to people of different age groups and backgrounds and engage their interest
- Self-motivated and well-organised
- Energy efficiency trained or with an awareness / interest in this and willing to obtain qualifications as part of the role
- Experience of project delivery and reporting of information - IT skills (word, excel, outlook, online database systems)
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle for work use would be an advantage

The post requires satisfactory DBS check and appropriate references to be obtained by Warm Wales. Warm Wales staff are currently working from home, with trips to the office where necessary; working arrangements will be adjusted in accordance with the requirements of the role.

Hours of work This post is full time: normal full time working hours are 37 hours per week exclusive of lunch breaks. Although Warm Wales wishes to offer staff opportunities for flexible working, hours of work will also need to be worked flexibly to meet operational requirements for the role and must be agreed with line manager.

There will be occasions when staff may be requested to work additional hours or outside normal hours. Holidays commence at 26 days p.a. pro rata plus bank holidays. Pension Warm Wales offers a qualifying workplace pension scheme through NEST. Warm Wales makes employer contributions to the employee’s retirement pot, employee contributions will need to match those stipulated by the Government. A contracting out certificate under the Pensions Schemes Act 1993 is not in force. Currently (since April 2019) the contributions are Warm Wales 3% Employee 5%.

Additional Notes: Healthy Homes Healthy People (HHHP) Community Workers offers a range of advice, support, and referral options tailored to the needs of the household. Healthy Homes, Healthy People is open to everyone, but some of the services we refer to have their own eligibility criteria. These criteria usually relate to whether someone is on a low income, on certain means-tested benefits and / or have health conditions.
- Energy: help and advice with understanding energy bills, support with fuel debt, smart meters, savings, and discounts.
- Home adaptations: support accessing grab-rails, level access showers, stairlifts, etc.
- Priority Service Register: free registration with gas, electricity, and water providers for qualifying households
- Home safety measures: carbon monoxide awareness, smoke alarms, and locking cooker valves - information and advice for all and devices for qualifying households

NPT Hardship Relief Scheme is available to eligible residents living in Neath Port Talbot who are struggling to keep their homes warm. Eligible residents may access the hardship relief scheme for support to help ensure their homes are heated more efficiently as well as measures to help with paying energy bills.

Please be aware that if you have accessed the fund already you may not be eligible for further support. This fund is intended to address hardship, as such, there are limits to the support we can provide. Support:
