Press Data’s news monitoring operates 24 hours a day every day. As a successful company operating across the UK in news media environments, we maintain efficient technical solutions which enable our teams to work well for our clients.

Media analysis, insight and consultation is a growing area of the business, as clients seek to extract more meaning from their communications activities. Our Research and Insight team provides detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of media coverage, working to a defined methodology established through best industry practice.

**Specification**

Press Data is looking for an aspiring and ambitious individual, who is highly organised and motivated, with a keen interest in news media, current affairs and data.

This will require an individual with strong written and numeracy skills. In addition, the post holder must have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to rapidly extract information from text and audio. Full training will be given on an on-going basis.

The individual we are seeking will work as part of a small, friendly and efficient team, where respect and consideration are key values; they pride themselves on great team work, and all team members enjoy bringing positive energy to their work, and to the company.

Therefore, we are looking for a highly organised and efficient individual, who has an understanding of the media and communications industries, is willing to learn, and is comfortable working in an environment involving strict deadlines.

You may not necessarily have experience of the news media industry directly, but it is essential that you have a keen interest in this. The applicant will be able to work effectively and efficiently with company resources and will use their excellent professional judgment in a variety of situations for a wide range of clients.

The individual must share the values of the company and be able to communicate this positively to all clients and colleagues.

The person we are looking for must:

- Have excellent, proven communication skills, able to deal with people at different levels, both within the team and the wider company, and externally, with our clients.
- Have knowledge and experience of IT Applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, as well as preferably, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint; (training is given)
- Have good numeracy and data skills
- Be able to form co-operative working relationships;
- Have excellent time management skills in relation to understanding workloads and deadlines;
- Have sound organisational ability and the capacity to work accurately to deadlines;
- Be able to work diligently alone if necessary and to respond to a wide variety of situations as they arise;
- Have a flexible and ‘can-do’ attitude;
- Have excellent literacy skills with high levels of attention to detail;
- Be able to engage confidently with experienced communications professionals;
- Understand completely the need for excellent customer service at all times;
- Understand the need for complete confidentiality in some aspects of the role;
- Behave in a professional manner with colleagues and clients, leading by example in all tasks;
- Communicate the company ethos and demonstrate company values.
- If you have had experience of working within a busy production office or environment, then this is an advantage, but is not essential.

Overall, we are looking for an organised person, with strong communication skills, and with a strong desire to work in media intelligence, who would relish the challenge of ensuring that their contribution adds to the success of the company.

**Salary**: £20,000 - 24,000 per annum dependent upon experience

Holiday entitlement: 28 days annual leave entitlement including public holidays

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; variable 7.5 hour shifts from 8.00am - 6.00pm (which includes either 30 minutes or an hour of unpaid break) Mon-Fri
