**Main duties of the job**:
The post holder will work under the direction of the CNS for Tissue Viability:

- To support the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Tissue Viability, in the management and delivery of a high quality holistic service for patients who require specialist tissue viability care.
- The post holder will have sound knowledge and skills in prevention and management of pressure ulcers
- He/ she will work collaboratively with colleagues in the tissue viability team and other colleagues across the Trust to facilitate high quality individualized care to patients
- The post holder will support the CNS in monitoring standards of care by clinical audit throughout the Trust and assist in delivering the Tissue Viability teaching programme to all professional groups
- He/she is expected to work with decreasing supervision during the secondment.
- The post holder will be a member of the relevant clinical groups, e.g. Stop the Pressure meeting, and represent tissue viability nursing issues accordingly.

**Education & professional Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- First level registration
- Working towards a degree or evidence of continuing education

**Desirable criteria**:

- Mentorship/ preceptorship or equivalent teaching qualification

**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- 3 years post registration experience
- Experience in managing complex wounds
- Experience of MDT working
- Experience of implementing change in a clinical setting

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of working in inpatient and outpatient setting

**Skills and aptitudes**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of current advances in wound care
- An understanding of quality, clinical risk, clinical governance, national benchmarks and other professional issues

**Desirable criteria**:

- Knowledge of research & audit methodology

**Others requirements**:

- Good attendance record
- Computer Literacy
- Flexible approach to work
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
