Job summary

The Haematology Department is seeking to find a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking nurse to join the team. We are looking for an experienced nurse, with a minimum of two years post nursing registration who wish to gain experience in clinical haematology ambulatory care; with opportunity to develop to becoming a specialist nurse in haematology.

The department offers a wide range of services to haematology patients and collaborates with other medical specialties to cater to the special health needs of this population.

We are looking for an experience nurse with good venepuncture skills and Cannulation. But training will be provided for the specialist aspects of the role.

The work setting will be mainly out-patient and day-care within the department from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the haematology service by undertaking the appropriate training and competency's to look after and administer treatment for patients receiving blood transfusion, iron, IVIG and other haematological treatments within the unit at Royal Free site, under the direct supervision of specialist nurses.
