Job Overview

Reeds Solicitors LLP are a successful and established legal practice, and we pride ourselves on excellence. We are looking to expand so we can continue to represent those in most need and provide advice and representation on all aspects of Criminal Law. Accordingly, we have an opportunity for a Caseworker/ Police Station Representative.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist all Solicitors and Litigators throughout all stages of case preparation;
- Accurately time record for all work carried out on the case management system;
- Undertake legal research and instruct experts when required;
- Attend clients to provide advice and representation during interviews at the police station. This includes ensuring all clients receive an advice call within the requisite time frame.
- Complete PACE/Interview Attendance Form, ensuring all dates have been provided.
- Chasing outcomes on police station files
- Confirming court dates with clients;
- Cover the 24hr phone during the day and when required at night and weekends, on a rota basis.
- Ensuring standards of files are met in accordance with the Office Manual and Lexcel standards;
- Provide the highest level of customer service;
- Any other duties as directed by the Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader, Clerk or a member of the Management Team.

Person Specification
- Experience in criminal law proceedings or working in a Solicitors office is essential;
- Ideally have experience of handling own caseload of criminal cases;
- Good communicator in both written and spoken English;
- Good understanding of client care requirements;
- Must be IT literate and be willing to learn;
- Excellent time management and organisation skills;
- Good team work ethics;
- The ability to work within a high pressure and workload environment;
- Resilient with the ability to cope with ever-changing priorities.

Salary

£20,000 - £23,000 per annum depending on experience

Working hours

9:00am to 5pm, with one hour for lunch Monday - Friday
